As a beneficiary of the My Safe Florida Home program, you could receive up to $10,000 to make crucial improvements to your home. This financial assistance can be used to improve your exterior doors, garage doors, install impact windows, and strengthen your roof. What’s more, for every dollar you spend on these improvements, the State will contribute two dollars, up to a maximum of $10,000. In addition to fortifying homes against hurricanes, the program aims to help homeowners obtain cheaper insurance premiums by informing insurance companies about the improvements made to the property.
This year, Condominium Associations have the opportunity to apply for substantial grants of up to $175,000. To be eligible, the application must be approved by the majority of condominium owners, and the building in question must be located within a 15-mile radius of the coast.
